NH Wing Bulletin Board

Click here [ Bulletin Board ] to go to our NH Wing CAP Bulletin Board. As we get the bulletin board fully operational, you will find help using it on the board itself on the "Help" link after you register. The first time you visit the bulletin board, click on the -here- link to register yourself with a user name (any non-profane single word user name is OK) and a real email address where your initial password will be sent. Your user name is case sensitive so remember how you entered it. "Skip" and "skip" are two different user names. Check your email and within about 5 minutes you will receive a message from the server with your initial password.

Return to the bulletin board screen (if you left it to check your email) and enter your user name and temporary password. This will take you to the main page of the bulletin board. The first thing you want to do is customize your "Profile" so others visiting the bulletin board and reading your posts will know who you are. Click on the work Profile at the top of the page and at a minimum change your "Name" from your User Name to your real name. The rest of the information is optional but can affect how others see your information on the Members page or view your posts.

Remember the same rules apply on the bulletin board as with the Chat Room (below). Abuse these rules and you will be banned from the bulletin board.

NH Wing Chat Room

Here is our own NH Wing Chat Room available for anyone to exchange notes with anyone else currently on-line at our chat room. You might want to arrange times for various groups to meet here. The rules are simple:

Keep the topics discussed to relate to Civil Air Patrol
No profanity
No slandering of CAP or its members
Report infractions or objectionable language/topic to our Webmasters, webmasters @ nhwgcap.org

NH Wing Email List

NH Wing members can subscribe to what is called an email broadcast system. Messages addressed to this email address will reach all subscribed members in the Wing. This service should only be used to broadcast important messages and announcements all (or most) members of NH Wing need to receive. We don't need more SPAM in our email boxes so please use this capability judiciously. This is a closed distribution list meaning only members of the list (as determined by your From: email address) can broadcast to the list and only members will receive these messages. The Email address of this list is NHCAP-LIST @ lists.mitre.org. 

The members of the list can be obtained by return email message by sending an email message to the list server (address listserv@mitre.org) with only the following two lines of text in the body of the message:

review nhcap-list by name
end

The list server uses three email addresses for three very different purposes. One for reaching all the members, one for subscribing/unsubscribing and one to reach the list manager. Read "How To Upset People You Don't Even Know" to understand the purposes of these addresses.

Subscribe to NHCAP-LIST: To subscribe to the list, send an ordinary email message to NHCAP-LIST-Request @ lists.mitre.org from the email account you want to subscribe from and include in the body of the message your name so we can verify your CAP status.

You will receive instructions on how to use the list server when you have successfully subscribed to the list.

Unsubscribe from NHCAP-LIST: To unsubscribe from the list, send an ordinary email message to NHCAP-LIST-Request @ lists.mitre.org preferably from the email account you want to unsubscribe from and include in the body of the message your request to unsubscribe from NHCAP-LIST and your name. If you no longer use the email account, include when you send the message both your old and new email address (indicating whether you want to totally unsubscribe, or simply change your active email address).

Emergency Service Pager List

A special email distribution list for short announcements related to Emergency Services is available for subscription. Usually the only message sent is something like "AFRCC has activated NH Wing for SARSAT detection. Contact xxx for aircraft tasking and zzz for ground crew tasking." These messages are intended to alert Emergency Service personnel to call in for details or check their email for more information. Only the Emergency Service Incident Commanders and the Director of Emergency Services can originate messages to this email list. Requests to join the list should be requested by sending your request (with the email address of your pager, cell phone, BlackBerry, etc.) to webmasters @ nhwgcap.org . Subscriptions for multiple email addresses (e.g., work and home) are allowed. 

Commander's List

Squadron Commanders (or their representative) and the Wing Commander are members of a manually maintained email distribution list used for exchanging email messages between or to all commanders in NH Wing. Anyone can sent messages to all NH CAP commanders simultaneously by addressing their message to webmasters @ nhwgcap.org .

If you are a NH Wing squadron commander, requests to join the list should be requested by sending your request to webmasters @ nhwgcap.org . Subscriptions for multiple email addresses (e.g., work and home) are allowed. 

Pilots List

NH Wing Pilots (and support staff) can subscribe to a combined email list Pilots @ nhwgcap.org. As SPAM protection, only members of the list can address messages to the group via this email address. To join the list, simply send an email message from the email account you wish to use to PILOTS-SUBSCRIBE @ nhwgcap.org. To leave the list, send an email message from your subscribed email account to PILOTS-UNSUBSCRIBE @ nhwgcap.org. If you no longer use this email account, send the request for to leave the list with your subscribed email address to webmasters @ nhwgcap.org. 

The Pilots List is a one-way distribution from Operations to the Pilot Community. All members of this list are also subscribed to a parallel "chat" list, PILOTS-DISCUSS @ nhwgcap.org. Anyone subscribed to this list can reach all the other members of the PILOTS list (except those who opt out) to discuss NH Wing Pilot topics of mutual interest. If you wish to opt out of the PILOTS-DISCUSS list, send an email message from your subscribed email account to PILOTS-DISCUSS-UNSUBSCRIBE @ nhwgcap.org. If you no longer use this email account, send the request for to leave the list with your subscribed email address to webmasters @ nhwgcap.org.

Flight Technology List

This email list is intended to reach members on NH Wing who are interested specifically in the Satellite Digital Information System (SDIS) and ARCHER who wish to be kept in the loop regarding these and other technologies related to aviation. Membership is limited to current members of NH Wing plus the Command Staff and Pilots who fly our aircraft in NH Wing. If you are not a pilot or on the Command Staff (automatic membership), provide your name, CAPID, and email address to Lt Col Skip Guild (DO @ nhwgcap.org) and you will be added to the email list.
